We entered July. Rey left in March and here we are in July. There is still so many days to go, but we are inching closer. In this sixteenth week apart, we ate junk food, we watched/participated in our first competitive swim meet, we celebrate the Nation’s Independence and we had the normal highs and […]

The house was once again completely mine during this 15th week. (Can you see a trend in my need for having the house to myself? To having my solitude? It is a bit troubling. But so deeply necessary to me!) Anyway, we said goodbye to my mom and the girls started their first summer camp. […]

  • These pictures are so beautiful, Julie. Your life is beautiful. On the good days. The bad days. The busy days. The sad days. It is always beautiful. Every time I see your stunning images, it makes me want to take pictures of our life too. My teenager who is 9 parts teenager, 1 part adult, abhors the camera now, so I sneak a phone shot when I can.

Sending love on this patriotic day. I prayed for your Rey today.ReplyCancel

    • I remember the teen years, Becky, and I know my access to the girls will end at some point. So I am taking full advantage now!ReplyCancel

I am not a great traveler. I really like to be in my own space. With my own routine. The week in California was such a¬†good one, though. My girls had tons of fun with cousins and grandparents. But when it was time to go, I was ready. Two days driving home, then a few […]

  • Almost every time I visit, I cry. Today I cried when I thought of you showing Rey your steak and drink.

I like your brother in law’s family. How nice of them to make Sydney feel so special.

    I can’t believe how she has grown.ReplyCancel

    • I am indeed blessed with a great family! Funny side note: Rey and I married on my brother in law’s birthday, so it seemed fitting for him to retire on the birthday of someone in my family. Only fair, right?!ReplyCancel

They did it! They finished out 4th grade and Kindergarten! Adeline was sad to see the school year close because she will miss her friends and she doesn’t want to move up to 1st Grade. But there was one thing that made the end of school okay…the arrival of their much beloved grandma, Akka. Nothing […]

  • Those boots are the best. How did you come up with the name Akka?ReplyCancel

    • No idea on the name Akka! Sydney coined it when she first started speaking. I called both of my grandmothers Grandma and I am sure I referred to my mom that way. Nevertheless, Sydney veered off and made up this name that has stuck.ReplyCancel
